Safe, structured environments for meaningful parent-child connections
When circumstances require supervised contact between parents and children, the Center for Relational Care provides safe, supportive environments where meaningful connections can occur. Our supervised visitation services are designed to prioritize children's safety and emotional well-being while allowing important family relationships to continue.
Whether ordered by the court or voluntarily sought by families, our trained professionals create structured, neutral spaces where children can spend quality time with their parents. We offer multiple levels of supervision to meet the unique needs of each family situation.
Three levels of supervision to meet your family's needs
Guided parent-child contact facilitated by a clinically licensed mental health professional. This level of supervision is best suited for families experiencing high-conflict, agitation, fear, or mistrust, and helps address the emotional needs of the child while supporting better parent-child relationships.
Therapeutic supervision is recommended when there are concerns about a child's emotional response to visits, history of trauma, allegations of abuse or neglect, or when the court specifically orders clinical supervision.
Safe, structured child-parent contact with court-supported observations by trained Family Monitors. This service provides a secure environment for parent-child visits when clinical intervention is not required but supervision is still necessary.
All Family Monitors complete comprehensive training in child development, safety protocols, and documentation requirements. They maintain professional neutrality while ensuring children's safety and comfort.
A safe, neutral setting for children to transition between parents. Exchanges are typically ordered by the Court, though parents may also agree to arrangements through mediation. Each parent/guardian completes a separate intake with a trained Family Monitor.
Parents arrive at staggered times to prevent direct contact. The child is safely received by our staff from one parent and then released to the other. This process minimizes conflict exposure for children and provides a buffer during high-tension transitions.

The level of supervision is often specified in court orders. If you're unsure, we can help assess your situation during an initial consultation. Therapeutic supervision is typically recommended for cases involving trauma, allegations of abuse, or significant emotional concerns. Non-therapeutic supervision is appropriate when safety is the primary concern but clinical intervention isn't required.
During visits, a trained professional remains present to observe interactions, ensure safety, and document the visit. Parents are encouraged to engage naturally with their children through play, conversation, and activities. Our staff intervenes only when necessary to maintain safety or, in therapeutic visits, to provide coaching and support.
Yes, many families use supervised visitation as a stepping stone toward reunification. Consistent, positive visits demonstrate to the court that a parent can safely and appropriately interact with their child. Therapeutic supervision in particular can help address underlying issues and improve parent-child dynamics.
Visit duration varies based on court orders, the child's age, and what's appropriate for your situation. Visits commonly range from one to three hours. We work with families to establish schedules that serve the child's best interests.
Documentation of visits is maintained confidentially and released only as required by court order or with appropriate authorization. Reports may be provided to attorneys, guardians ad litem, and the court upon request.
